Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rakeback?

Rakeback, quite simply, is a way for you to keep more of your money where it belongs - in your pocket. Each time you sit down to play real money poker online, you pay a portion of your bankroll in fees or rake. These collections keep the lights on at the poker room and keep people answering emails at customer service. Rakeback simply rewards the savvy customer with a discount on those fees. Discount percentages vary, but rakeback can add up to some serious savings over time.

Where should I play?

When you are looking for an online poker room, we at Pokersoftware.com suggest you look first for the things that matter most to you like ease of use, player volume, reliable payouts, quality customer service, software compatibility, and gameplay issues (graphics, user interface, etc.). You will be much happier at a site that fits your tastes and expectations than you will be at a site you hate that offers a higher rakeback percentage.

We offer site reviews of all of our rakeback poker rooms and you can find additional advice and information in our forums.

Can I get rakeback if I already have an account with one of your promoted sites?

Unfortunately, the answer to this is almost always no. Even if you have an old play money account you never played on, it can nix the deal as far as rakeback goes. These websites are looking for new customers, and that is who they are willing to shell out the value to.

In very rare cases, on a select few websites, exceptions can be made. If you would like to find out if you are eligible, feel free to contact our support department.

Do you offer rakeback on (insert site)?

If it's not listed in our rakeback offerings, we do not currently have a rakeback agreement with that website. We will be working to add new deals all the time, and if you would like to nominate a site for rakeback that you don't see here, please feel free to email support. Keep in mind that some pokerrrooms, such as Pokerstars.com, do not offer any rakeback.

How do I know how much rake I've generated?

Pokersoftware.com serves as your rakeback account manager. All of your accumulated rake is tracked by the gaming website and they report your net rake to us several times a week. Net rake represents your total rake minus any bonuses paid out. Net rake calculations can vary significantly from site to site. You can monitor your accumulated rakeback anytime by logging into your rakeback account.

When do I get my money?

Rakeback payments should be prompt and accurate. Payout schedules vary from website to website, but if for any reason your expected payment does not arrive, feel free to notify our customer support.

You can check the payment schedule for each rakeback program under our site descriptions.

How is rakeback affected by bonuses?

As with most questions in the poker world, the answer to this one is "it depends". Each poker website treats bonus payouts differently when it comes to rakeback. You should consult our site descriptions for the individual site policies.

Most websites subtract your bonus from rakeback as it is payed out. Regardless, a bonus is almost always a good thing for a player, and we encourage you to take the poker sites up on their bonus offers. It’s free money after all.

My rakeback payment is smaller than I expected, what's up?

There are many ways your rakeback payout can be diminished. Here are some of the most common:

- You were paid a portion of your deposit bonus. See above for how bonuses affect rakeback.

- If you are using tracking software (and you should be), it may track rake via a different method than your gaming provider when it comes to rakeback (i.e. Dealt vs. Contributed vs. Weighted Contributed). We indicate the rake calculation method for each site on our description pages.

-Deductions have been applied to your rake for deposit fees, tournament overlays, bonuses cleared, points spent in the poker site's store, etc.  Full Tilt's store, for instance, charges $0.005 per point used against your net rake, thereby costing the player $0.00135 per point used in rakeback.

The number reported on your My Account page here at Pokersoftware.com represents your Net Rake, which is the amount of rake you've generated minus applicable charges. This should accurately reflect your payout, so if there is a discrepancy between the two, please let us know.
